Today’s action step is to get that opt-in page created. Assuming you already have WordPress set up, one of the fastest ways to do this will be to get yourself a template plugin and use that. It’s then a matter of filling in the blanks.
As I mentioned I recommend the Thrive plugin. You can see the opt-in options here:
As far as content goes for your opt-in you’ll want to follow these tips:
- Capitalize your headline, like a newspaper would do.
- Don’t mention anything about your upsell – focus on the opt-in offer.
- Describe your opt-in offer with BENEFITS. This means don’t say “Sign up for your 10-page report with 7-steps to eat better.” Say something like “Feeling sluggish? Sign up for this eye-opening report that gives you an easy and effective way to get in the foods that energize you and get you EXCITED about eating healthy!”
- Test, test and test again! You can use your gmail multiple times by putting a period (.) in between letters. For example my gmail email could be: email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org & email@example.com, etc! This is an easy way to test your form multiple times.
Put together your opt-in page.
If you are a member of the online community, post a link to your opt-in page and get feedback from fellow club members!
